  14. I'm having problems with a new "Sportster Plug and Play 14.4 FAX
  15. Modem - Internal Version", Model 276.
  16.  
  17. The comm software talks to the modem okay - using KEA!.
  18.  
  19. Connects at 2400 baud work fine.
  20.  
  21. At any higher rate, I can hear the other modem answer and the carrier
  22. but after a few seconds I get a "NO CARRIER".  It never connects.

  24. My init string is taken from the USR web page:

  28. Rarely, I've gotten it to connect at 9600 to a terminal server at work
  29. but have never achieved a 9600 or greater connect to America Online.
  30. When it has worked it has not be obvious what I did differently;
  31. apparently nothing.
